Linda Fargo… My idol.
So, I LOVED watching Vogue’s livestream of this year’s Met Gala red carpet. Overall, everyone looked amazing and glamorous and I’m sure the event itself was unbelievable. I can’t wait to get a chance to visit the Costume Institute’s exhibition, “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations”, exploring the affinities between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada. I’ll be sure to post about my experience when I visit but for now I’ll cover the red carpet and my favorite and least favorite looks from tonight.
FAVORITES:

1. Beyonce in Givenchy: So far, I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on Bey’s dress. I thought it was FABULOUS and in true Bey-style. It was especially impressive considering she JUST had a baby. Yes, the bodysuit underneath took away from the look, but I still thought it was gorgeous. Also, I heard her nails were blue for her baby, Blue Ivy. Adorable.
2) Coca Rocha in vintage Givenchy (once owned by Elizabeth Taylor): Another killer Givenchy look. I loved the colors and especially loved the pink hair Schiaparelli tribute.
3) Jessica Alba in Michael Kors: Metallics seemed to be a big theme this year but Jessica Alba’s look was the best. The dress is perfection and the color and her makeup complement her beautifully. Love how proud Michael Kors looks in the background.
4) Joan Smalls: This look really struck me. Love the details.
5) Victoria Justice in MCQ by Alexander McQueen: LOVE LOVE LOVE. The dress is amazing, adorable, trendy, chic. I love everything from the dress to her makeup to her clutch and her shoes!
6) Emma Stone in Lanvin: Cute and glamorous! Emma Stone has made some great fashion choices lately and she’s adorable. This dress apparently had 1000 plastic flowers on it! Great work!
7) Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan Atelier: Stunning! Nina is becoming an icon. And that train!! Truly breathtaking and perfect choice for this event.
8) Amy Adams in Giambattista Valli: Elegant and the bow made the dress. Loved the hair and makeup as well.
Other favorites: Anna Wintour and Diane Kruger, both in Prada, Rooney Mara in Givenchy, and Dianna Agron in Carolina Herrera.
LEAST FAVORITE:

1) Christina Ricci in Thakoon: Awful, especially that bow.
2) Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga: Hate the dress, her shoes are terrible, her hair looks like she did it herself in 5 seconds, her makeup, her pose.
3) Ania Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello: What was with that “to-the-bony-hipbone” slit. Awful. We get it, you’re not wearing underwear and you’re practically naked.
And finally, I am still on the fence about Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe. I love Rachel Zoe and when I first saw this look, I hated it. I still hate the turban, but in different pictures, the look is kind of stunning and amazing.

Tuxedo Nails!
These are so cute! The top is Zooey Deschanel and the bottom is Kylie Jenner. Zooey’s are way more fun, but Kylie’s are more chic.

So I got busy with life and stopped posting. But I spent the day editing and streamlining up my blog, editing a theme, and perfecting it. I also wrote an about me (read it here!). Basically, I am a 20-something in the process of changing career and life paths and trying to break into the fashion/retailing industries. I am looking to go back to school to earn an MBA and do some internships in those industries. I also have a few other exciting opportunities coming up that I can’t wait to share with you all! I plan to use this blog as a life & style blog. Part of its purpose is to detail my journey to business school and my steps into the fashion world. It is a place for me to discuss all of this, to vent, to write it all down, and in hopes of helping someone out there who is also struggling with a career change or who also wants a place in the fashion or retail world. I also plan to talk about my everyday life, my personal style, to showcase my daily outfits, and to discuss my opinions of different trends, designers, lines, fashion shows, and anything relating to fashion, cosmetics, clothes, shoes, products, stores, etc.
Feel free to ask or tell me anything - either use my ask box or send me a personal email, which can be found on my page! xo
